Shamika Natasha Delaine

Youngstown - Shamika Natasha Delaine, 28, entered into eternal rest on Friday, February 12, 2016, at Northside Hospital.

Shamika was born July 29, 1987 in Youngstown, a daughter of Carnell Sr. and Tonja Delaine.  She attended Chaney High School and was continuing her education. 

Shamika was formerly employed at Antone’s Restaurant.  She loved spending time with her children and participated in the church choir including leading youth functions.

As a teenager Shamika spent several summers in New York City working as an intern at The Network Journal business newsmagazine and at Event Planners Plus! where she assisted with coordinating distinguished corporate programs including public service affairs with the Office of the New York State Comptroller under the leadership of H. Carl McCall.

Shamika leaves to cherish her memory her mother and father Tonja Delaine and Carnell Delaine Sr.; her beloved children: two daughters Sha’myha and D’lashaun, a son Christopher; a brother Carnell Delaine Jr., a sister D’lashun Delaine; grandparents Mary Cook-Kitchen and Bishop James Kitchen; a beloved aunt Debert Cook of New York, two aunts Linda Smith of Cuba, Alabama, Yvonne Townsend of Detroit, Mich.; two nieces D’ozjanae and D’audia Jones of Youngstown, plus a significant other Brandon Lewis of Youngstown.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents John and Mamie Delaine of Cuba, Alabama and Freeman F. Cook of Youngstown; great-grandparents John and Maggie Mitchell of Youngstown; an Uncles Eugene Delaine, Erick Delaine and an Aunt Dale Brown also of Cuba, Alabama.

Friends and family may gather prior to the service for calling hours, Friday, Feb. 19, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Abundant Love Outreach Ministry church, 93 E. Myrtle Avenue, Youngstown, Ohio.  The funeral will follow at 12:00 p.m.
